Review: Dolly Wink eyeshadow #01 sweet dolly

Just a review on the Dolly Wink eyeshadow in #01 sweet dolly which I bought back from Japan, so this is not a sponsored review.

cute case cover design

Although the case of the eyeshadow is quite cheap, the eyeshadow itself is pretty good

I misplaced the packaging of the eyeshadow, but basically it was just a small tutorial on how to use the 4 eyeshadow colours, like below:

very light swatches:
with flash

in daylight

Even though I swiped the eyeshadow palettes very lightly, I still got this much colour (highly pigmented):051:The good thing about these eyeshadows, is that they contain glitter, instead they contain micro shimmer, which gives off a satiny finish.

Wearing the 4 eyeshadow colours along with dolly wink #02 lashes, bottom lashes, maybelline mascara, liquid eyeliner

Pros:
- highly pigmented
- micro shimmer instead of glitter
- long lasting
- small and lightweight palette
- goes on very smooth
- great for day and night looks

Cons:
- cheap case, plastic
- applicator is cheap and useless
- a little pricey

Overall: 8.5/10
hope you liked this review~

Tagged!

Tagged by my twin megu, go check her blog out:016:

Here the rules:

  • Write 11 (random) things about yourself on your blog
  • Answer the questions the tagger set for you and create 11 new questions for the people you tag
  • Choose the next 11 people to tag and link them on the post
  • Go to their page and tell them you have linked him or her
  • No tag backs
  • You must post these rules
11 random things about me:
  • I dislike mostly all herb/spice type things eg. mint, rosemary, cinnamon, cloves, garlic, ginger. But I quite like coriander (even though they make your skin darker, NG )
  • I have monolids
  • I often get told that I look Korean or Japanese, but I'm Chinese
  • I suck at literature-type subjects like English and history (but I really like learning about the past..OTL)
  • I play/ed the piano, flute, guzheng (still play), and the recorder? lol primary school days
  • I have pretty fast metabolism, so I am often called a 'stick'
  • I had a pet turtle (called Greeny orz) before, but it somehow 'ran' away
  • I love makeup, because it's like drawing, except making a person more beautiful than they already are
  • I'm not scared of butterflies, moths or small spiders, which is unlike most girls because I used to like playing with bugs (especially worms) when I was little, keke
  • I've danced ballet for about 11 years, but now I dance Chinese classical dance
  • I have 2 nicknames that my parents/relatives call me: 'xiaobao' (小宝) which literally means 'little treasure' and my mum this, sometimes my relatives also add a 'wang' (王) which is my surname infront of 'little treasure' to make it wangxiaobao (王小宝). My dad called me xiaogou '小狗' which means 'little dog' because I'm born in the year of the dog, lol

11 questions:

1) If you were invited to an online party, what would you bring?
A party arranged online or a party that's online? anyways POCKY, grainwaves or vege chips, omg so addictive

2) Why did you decide to start a blog?
I was influenced by Megu who had a livejournal at that time, I asked her if I should make one too, so I did, but later on I changed to blogspot which is where I am now

3) Best online memory?
Don't really remember any

4) What would you risk your life for?
Nothing, because I want to live!! haha

5) What is your favourite item of clothing and why?
Shoes, they can really make a big difference in your outfit, and how long you can walk haha

6) How many litres (or mL!!!) of water do you drink in a day?
...1-1.5 litres? depending on the weather and what I'm doing

7) What is your current boom/obsession?
GREENTEA! After coming back from Japan, it's been matcha greentea mostly everyday for me since it's so good for you, and yummy too:003:

8) You are having a bad day! What do you do to cheer up yourself?
Listen to music, go on the internet or stretch(apparently stretching helps release your 'happy' endorphins or something)

9) What type of music are you willing to dance to?
Mega K-pop fan here!! So K-pop, if not ballet/contemporary because you can really express yourself through movements

10) Any future ambitions besides taking over the world plz?
Becoming a fashion designer, or something to do in the fashion industry

11) Do you prefer online or instore shopping?
Personally I would prefer instore shopping over online because you can see the actual product yourself, but being in a western country most of the clothing shops stock western clothing that don't really appeal to me (I like asian fashion), and often instores you have to pay more due to their rent and stuff (it will also increase because of gay Gillards carbon tax regime). Online shopping is quite risky because you never know exactly what product you're buying until it arrives at you doorstep; sometimes there will also be replicas :035:

That's all!

Now I tag Jen, Phuju, Huy, Sami, Lulu, Vyvy, and YOU if you are reading this (because I didn't know who else to tag ;w;)

and here's my 11 questions:

1. What are your pet peeves?
2. What's one makeup product you can't live without?
3. Your favourite television show when you younger?
4. What's your favourite type of music, and your favourite artist/band?
5. Countries you've travelled to or would like to?
6. If you could go back in time, what would you change?
7. One type of food you would eat for the rest of your life?
8. Your favourite shoes to wear?
9. Language you have learnt or are currently learning?
10. Someone who's influenced you the most?
11. Your own question!

Japan: Day 2

New Years in Japan, and what's better than Fukubukuro (福袋) :033: shopping?
Fukubukuro is also known as 'lucky bags', 'mystery bags' or 'happy bags' which usually start selling around the New Year; basically it's when bags, suitcases, tins or something along those lines are filled with unknown random items from that particular shop, and usually the fukubukuro bags are 50% or more off the list items, bargain:051:

So that day I headed down to the Shinsaibashi OPA which was just a 15-20 minute walk from my hotel, luckily I arrived there when the sales had just started. My first stop was WC :047: bought their 10,500yen fukubukuro, I'm really glad the staff-kun handed me one without a box, because I heard they were also giving out shoes and I wouldn't want a pair of size S-M shoes that I can't fit into, so thanks staff-kun :003: . Saw many people buying the gigantic INGNI fukubukuro but I had no idea what was inside, so I just ended up buying the one WC fukubukuro:030:
- fukubukuro bag
- WC beanie
- 'Japan' headband
- 'Japanese Girl 1984' jumper (limited to the fukubukuro)
- 'Christmas (元旦)' socks
- flared jeans
- 'Japan welcomes you (日本欢迎您)'cardigan
- underwear, lol
- 'Cut it out, give me a break!' t-shirt
- kuma-tan dressed up as a dragon sticker

The best thing I found about fukubukuro shopping in Osaka is that you don't need to line up for ages like in Tokyo.

Next was shopping around Shinsaibashi and Donki (Don Quijote), inside Donki:
so colourful right?

gets from Donki:
- balance/slimming slipers
- incanto perfume
- candydoll lipstick in apricot beige
- diamond nose makeup
- candydoll concealer in no.1
- dollywink lashes in no.11
- dollywink eyeshadow in no.1 sweet dolly

and a Rilakkuma kigurumi:016:
keeps you really warm and cute

also had our first dinner from a convenient store lol, if I closed my eyes and ate this I would have thought it was from a restaurant, and for the price less than 1000yen! amazing value, but I still prefer restaurants or cafes.

Til next time, じゃね(ja ne).

Japan: Day 1 (Osaka)

Some of you may know that I just came back from my trip to Japan, so this will be a recap. I arrived on the night of the 30th, so most of this post will be about the 31th (New Years Eve).

こんにちは日本! Hello Japan!

Arrived at Kansai International Airport which is situated in Osaka, and it was also our first stop in Japan. Our hotel was really close to Dotonburi, literally a 3 minute walk which is where many famous food vendors and shops are.

* - * - * - * - *

The follow morning started with a quick breakfast at Sukiya (I think) because it was the only place we could find since most of the shops open after 10am:030: and the price was amazing, for only around 400yen, it was very filling too:012:

Around the Doutonburi Street area there were many places to explore, including places like Shinsaibashi-suji and Namba

some arcade along Doutonburi

The Glico Man :027:pocky mmm

Gets from that day (many Uniqlo items):
- Uniqlo chino pants
- Uniqlo heattech jeans
- Uniqlo heattech shorts
- Vanilla (Park by One Way) jumper
- Uniqlo heattech top

And why all these Uniqlo items?
Because their fit is amazing! When I buy bottoms in Australia/Western countries, they never fit me properly :042: the hip is either too loose or the thighs are too loose, but Uniqlo ones are perfect and the price is also very cheap, the chinos were about $20AUD, and the heattech jeans are around $50AUD.
Btw if you have Uniqlo in your country definantly go buy some heattech items; they keep you really warm, for example when I just arrive in Japan I had to wear stockings inside my jeans, but once I got these I didn't need the stockings anymore :044:

United Cube

Hunted down the United Cube Album last week, that was released for Australia after reading this. So happy that K-Pop is slowly coming into Australia!~
Bought mine from JB Hifi and they even had a small stand dedicated to the K-Pop Music Fest so cute, btw it was $20.

and yes, I'm a Beast/B2st fangirl~

Hyunseung and Gikwang <3

Glad the album even came with lyrics and english lyrics too~

sasa-ness

Just a small review on some of the products I bought from Sasa that came in a few weeks ago.

Here's what I got:
- Shiseido ANESSA Perfect Sunscreen EX N SPF 50+ PA+++ here
- Feuki, Soothing Gel here
- Dollywink Liquid Eyeliner here

Now onto the reviews
ANESSA Perfect Sunscreen
Since the Australian sunrays are very strong, I always make sure that I am protected from it, so sunscreen is always the best answer for me. I used to use this product, but after remembering my Japanese friend using this sunscreen which is also by Shiseido, I decided to get one myself.

the consistancy was very milky, and is easily absorbed without leaving an oily feeling, and also has a soft scent. But the best thing is that my skin really didn't burn or anything, unlike many of the Banana Boat products I have used that still make me burn alittle. Although it is a bit hard to remove, a strong cleanser will do the job :)
It is quite pricey, but for the quality it's totally worth it! 4.8/5

Fueki Soothing Gel

Was immediately sold to this product because of its cuteness, and because I needed an after-sun product, I found it quite helpful with the spatula that was provided as you could 'dig' out the soothing gel. Doesn't really have a scent but it does sooth my skin without a great cooling sensation which is nice, and also keeps my skin moisturised.
It's a 4/5 from me

Dollywink Liquid Eyeliner
I love Tsubasa's designs I finally grabbed my hands on one of her eyeliners which I have been out of stock for ages on Sasa. Just like the many reviews I have read on this eyeliner, it really is amazing just like my Koji Linequeen. The tip is very thin and draws very precise yet dramatic lines, which can also be easily removed with water which is a plus. Haven't found any problems with liquid eyeliner yet, 5/5 :)

Thanks for reading~
