Valedictory Dinner

Spent a fabulous night with everyone from my year level on our valedictory/graduation night, which was also a great night to top off saying goodbye to everyone (except there were no tears this time, as most of us had cried our eyes out a few hours beforehand at school after the countdown)
Unlike most schools and their valedictory/graduation dinners where they are dressed in school uniform to graduate, we had a less formal formal (if you get what I mean) and every girl dressed up again just like for our formal earlier this year.
Personally, I think that graduating whilst in school uniform would have been better, because we would be seen as a united group of students graduating from school (which would also have decreased the fuss about who's wearing what dress and blah blah girl problems)

Muck Up Day no.2

On this day, it's a tradition in our school to chop up our uniforms and make them into something else, each group with a different theme or dress up.
From first thoughts of 'german barmaids' which we thought were probably too 'slutty' or most likely taken by some other group (which did happen in the end), we decided to gnome it up with shortalls, pointy red felt hats, and our choice of props (I chose a fishing rod whilst others chose garden tools or a ukelele).  I think our group has something to do with gnomes; from gnome singlets and ceremic gnome statues (which we each have), I must say we really are gnome-ing it up
This muck up day we had a range of dressups: eskimos, playboys bunnies, cheerleaders, barmaids, red riding hoods,  cowgirls, nurses, Harajuku girls, Alice in Wonderland, scarecrows, and pirates just to name a few, not to forget those garden features - le gnomes.

A fun last day at school was well spent, but it would not have been accomplished without the hardwork each groupd put in to making their individial costumes.  For us, it was a day by the sewing machine, sewing away which made us sew happy hehe.

Muck Up Day no.1

The first muck up day started off with...just a random packet of M&Ms mmm yummy, but it wasn't your usual packet of M&Ms.  They were a packet family of happy M&Ms who had been friends for quite a few years and know each other just like they had been friends for years ٩꒰๑❛▿❛ ॢ̩꒱

We felt like such celebrities? on the second last day as people would constantly ask us for photos, even overheard a little year 7 kid saying "omg, are they M&Ms?" Yes we were, and we brought every chocolate lovers childhood back :)

On a side note, we were meant to go as Crayola crayons however US postal services *cough* unreliable snail-speed service *cough* should really update their service speed, as our crayon costumes which we ordered from America were meant to arrive in Australia within 5 days since we chose the 'express' international shipping option.  Instead, they arrive after 10 days on the day of our muckup day afsdkhaslk, well after their quoted delivery date (ﾉಠ益ಠ)ﾉ彡┻━┻
So we had to come up with a cheap, quick and easy idea for costumes, and came up with M&M's which are really just round circles of felt stuck together (leaving a few gaps for the arms and body) and the letter 'm' sewn on both the back and front and voila, you have your M&M costume!  Thanks to Kirsten, Maddie and Shirley who made these costumes at the very last minute.

Since we're girls, we love dressing up so the whole year level came as different things or people - footballers, sailors, superheroes, Where's Wally's, teletubbies, jungle girls, just to name a few and of course M&Ms  (｡╹ω╹｡)

Pre-Muck Up Days

Hey guys, I'm not officially back from my hiatus, but I have a week's break before my next exam so I thought it would be good to update with a post during this time.

For those of you who don't know, 'Muck Up' day or week is when year 12 students who are in their final year of high school set up pranks and other activities on their week or days of school.  Our school only allowed us to have two days of muck up day so the number of things we could do to our school was limited, however we had a free dress day the school day before our official muck up day started so it was a chance to get a few things started :)

Just a few rules I made up for muck up day/s:
Rule number one: do not start all the activities all at once, start from minuscule things and increase in size and effectiveness.

'Take what you need' passes that were distributed around the school, because I go to a girls school, the above 'passes' are appropriate eg. cramps sports pass, longer skirt/dress pass, cake-face removal.  There was also a 'one direction immunisation' which is thought was pretty funny

Second rule: do not damage school property but make it annoying for others

Make it difficult for those who annoy you, such as those year 9's and 10's who hog the bathroom mirrors everyday after school for a good 30 minutes to reapply their orange cake-faces with more orange-ness, before meeting up with da bois from neighbouring schools...

Rule three:  Make a big impact without doing much

Trapped those year 9's so it made it impossible for them to get to their lockers at the end of lunch, on both side of the building too!  Just sat and chilled whilst we watched the faces of those middle school kids go  \( ･д･)/ mwahaha.  Also increased the effectiveness of the prank by completing a marathon around the school with around 120 other year 12 girls by screaming and running which freaked a lot of girls out *score*

Rule four:  Suprise teachers, this step may include ambushing the staff room..

On two seperate days we ambushed the staff room (by informing the co-ordinator first so we wouldn't get into trouble) and gave out detentions to teachers, made ourselves at home with a nice coffee, and stole quite a lot icypoles from their fridge (❛▿❛)

However, suprising teachers may end up with consequences...like being paid back the following day

Rule five:  Time for payback, or you could always give them a nicely wrapped present :)

Someone wrapped up the vice principle's car (I think) in glad wrap, always good to have some extra protection whilst on the road :)

Rule seven:  Just have fun! (but don't injure anyone)
Our school decided to join up with the guys from Camberwell with a water fight after school with water guns and water balloons, however some girls chickened out at the last minute once they heard that there would be 80 or so guys... so only around 50 of us had to tackle them, impossible.  Being immature badasses they didn't just chuck water balloons but also sausages, tomatoes, apples, and hard-boiled eggs. who said it was a food fight?!?  Oh, and I was hit in the jaw with an unbreakable raw tomato, whilst my friend was hit in the chest with an apple ugh those bastards (ㆆ﹏ㆆ)
So we did end up losing the water fight, what can I say of course they would've won, but it was still really fun as one of the last days of school ʕ•͡ω•ʔ

That's it for now, should be studying for my business management and geography exams which are next week, and then high school would be officially over!! Wait for the next few posts which will be about muck up days and my valedictory dinner, up after my exams that is :)) toodles~

Retrospect

My 13 years of schooling has finally come to an end (apart from the exams which are still to come), from my shy, quite primary school days I have transformed into a braver more outgoing person (but I'm still quite at time) through many friends who were like family to me in high school.
Thank you everyone who has helped create the current me, allowed me to find myself, and helped me discover who I am and my personality, as quoted in many letters and messages I have now become a 'bubbly, happy, fun girl with a genuine personality'. (´ω`)

Prep - Year 12

From prep where I had my first ever school photo (which I had forgotten about hence the messy hair) to the year 12 photo where I've learnt to smile a cheesey smile :)

Throughout my journey of growing up, I have fallen many times along the rocky road and wanted to turn back to where I started (where it was easier) however it's a one-way road so it is impossible, it was those close to me who helped me stand up and strengthened me to continue along the road towards adulthood.

Again, thank you to everyone and the new friends I made along the way for your constant support, and the strong friendship we held tightly together.  Let's stand up, spread our wings out, and fly together~

Review: Guhng - The Palace

Had my 18th dinner party at this pure amazing-ness place, Guhng.  And this will be the story of my experience with the Korean barbeque place, Guhng (The Palace)...I'll try my best with the story part ><"
On a slightly rainy Sunday night in Melbourne, Lissy and her friends battled against the cold rain with minimal shelter along the streets in the city in order to arrive at their final destination Guhng.  They finally found Guhng - The Palace shining brightly at number 19 McKillop Street, Melbourne, 3000 admist the other gloomy restaurants which were closed that Sunday night.

As soon as Lissy saw the Guhng sign, she immediately rememberd back to the Goong (Princess Hours) drama sign, but she was too hungry to consult with her friends about the similarity.  So in she stepped into the four-leveled Korean barbeque palace.

Once everyone was seated, the tables magically filled with four colourful side dishes that consisted of kimchi, coleslaw with pasta, pickled pink radish (amazing) and pickled onion, along with three dipping sauces for the barbeque.

When the meat was ordered for the barbeque, waiteresses dressed in traditional Korean hanboks came to our service and helped us prepare the meat along with a 'magic mushroom' for each plate of meat (to help signify when the meat was ready), the waitresses also helped cut up and serve the meat, which made everyone feel like princesses :)

The two tables of nearly 20 girls enjoyed many plates of meat ranging from pork fillet and bulgogi to the famous ox tongue which is a must for Korean barbeque.

Didn't try any of the desserts as we had cake, but I'm sure they would be delicious as their mains were.  The extravagantly decorated Guhng was filled with amazing lights and wall features, and pipes that sucked the smoke out from the barbeque to ensure the air was not too stuffy from the barbeques.

Now back to real life, because I can no longer continue on with the story line and because I'm not too good with creative writing or essays.
Overall, it was a great experience as it was my first time having Korean barbeque, I'm not a food critic but everything suited my tastebubs so it was all very satisfying.  However their service may be a bit slow as dealing with many floors and tables of hungry customers (which is understandable), but I do think they should add on a few more vegetarian options since they only had around 4 vegetarian options which was limited for my vegetarian friend, so I give Guhng a 4.5/5.  But I'll definately be back next time Guhng!

It's also sort of on the pricey side with a meal at $25-$35 as stated by Urbanspoon here, but once you eat with a few friends, the price comes down :)  Then again, you get what you pay for~

Coming of age *pic heavy*

Experienced my 'Coming of age'  (a young person's transition from childhood to adulthood) around three weeks ago, and hallelujah I'm finally 18, the legal age in Australia.  Don't know what the next 18 years will be like but for the 18 years I've lived have been amazing through tears and laughter with my family and friends.
It was also Yifan's birthday that day of my actual birthday, so we are twins hurhur just from a different mother and father

Since I made a vow to myself to never drink (personal reasons) going to a bar or club for my birthday would be unsuitable, so I resorted to having dinner at some fancy place in the city.  I was contemplating on having high tea, korean bbq or some place at Crown Casino, but in the end I chose korean bbq and Guhng - The Palace.  I'll be making a post about that next time.

Dad brought back stuff for me from his recent trip to China.  Must say that the clothes he bought for me are like 5x better than last time, I can actually wear these out whereas the clothes he got for me were kids sized :S  So he got me a really cute peter pan collar dress, tw floral rompers, stripey shirt, pink Swatch watch, L.E.D (some german brand) watch, and also Loccitane mini samples from the hotel haha
