Valedictory Dinner

Spent a fabulous night with everyone from my year level on our valedictory/graduation night, which was also a great night to top off saying goodbye to everyone (except there were no tears this time, as most of us had cried our eyes out a few hours beforehand at school after the countdown)
Unlike most schools and their valedictory/graduation dinners where they are dressed in school uniform to graduate, we had a less formal formal (if you get what I mean) and every girl dressed up again just like for our formal earlier this year.
Personally, I think that graduating whilst in school uniform would have been better, because we would be seen as a united group of students graduating from school (which would also have decreased the fuss about who's wearing what dress and blah blah girl problems)

The Power of Makeup

世上没有丑女人, 只有惰女人
There's no ugly women, only lazy women

Just as quote from one of  the greatest makeup transformation guru in China.  From a monolider she is able to transform into a beautiful girl with double eyelids and bigger eyes.  

I'm not being bias about monolids here as I have monolids myself, and yes I have tried double eyelid tapes and glues to try and become someone with double eyelids but I found that my eyes started to sag a little due to the tape/glue that stuck my eyelids together and stretched them, so I have now accepted and learnt to embrance my Asian monolid-ness (◞ꈍ∇ꈍ)
It's always good to look different from what most Asians aim to look like (the big googly dolly eyes), so show off your uniquenes!

All thanks to makeup us girls are able to transform into princesses from ugly ducklings, even with a dab of foundation or a swipe of mascara we can enrich our features and increase our self-esteem levels.  都是化装品和技术让我们成为漂亮的小公主咯~

Tricked about 20 people on Facebook with 'my' new brown hair.  I wouldn't dare dye my hair as mum would have to lecture me for hours about the dangers of dying your hair due to all the chemicals inside and blah blah blah so yes, I will be a blackhead for life (pun intended).  Now I look like some ulzzang or maybe even one of the Korean singers that I'm told I look like, thanks to my korean-looking eyes haha

Coming of age *pic heavy*

Experienced my 'Coming of age'  (a young person's transition from childhood to adulthood) around three weeks ago, and hallelujah I'm finally 18, the legal age in Australia.  Don't know what the next 18 years will be like but for the 18 years I've lived have been amazing through tears and laughter with my family and friends.
It was also Yifan's birthday that day of my actual birthday, so we are twins hurhur just from a different mother and father

Since I made a vow to myself to never drink (personal reasons) going to a bar or club for my birthday would be unsuitable, so I resorted to having dinner at some fancy place in the city.  I was contemplating on having high tea, korean bbq or some place at Crown Casino, but in the end I chose korean bbq and Guhng - The Palace.  I'll be making a post about that next time.


Anyways, here's what I received from the amazing people around me:

First up, from my group - thanks Kirsten, Laura, Meaghan, Mary, Maddie and Mannie for getting me something I wanted, le polaroid (instant camera).  And for those of you who know, I'm a pink-lover, so of course they got me the limited edition pink version!!

Dad brought back stuff for me from his recent trip to China.  Must say that the clothes he bought for me are like 5x better than last time, I can actually wear these out whereas the clothes he got for me were kids sized :S  So he got me a really cute peter pan collar dress, tw floral rompers, stripey shirt, pink Swatch watch, L.E.D (some german brand) watch, and also Loccitane mini samples from the hotel haha

Last but not least, my present from Megu, who a met up with this week.  She gave me this highly raved rubber mascara, a twistable pencil eyeliner (which I was just about to buy), and a really cute birthday card

I'm getting older, but the fun has just started

Dollywink new lashes

Tsubasa-chan just released 3 more lashes to add to her second collection, no. 15-17.  Can't wait for these to be around in stores as I would love to purchase the Pure Girl (No. 15) one as it looks more natural than the no. 4 ones.

Japan: Day 3 - Osaka Castle

It's been ages since I made a post about my trip to Japan. So on our third day in Japan which was the 2nd of January, we visited the Osaka Castle which is literally the symbol of Osaka.

We then caught the train back to Shinsaibashi station, which connected to Daimaru a department store

with two levels just for gyaru/gal brands

Since Daimaru is situated right on Shinsaibashi-suji, I just had to shop there lol

Review: Candy doll Blush in Strawberry Pink

Just a short review on Tsubasa Masuwaka's Candy doll blush in Strawberry Pink, forgot to buy this when I was in Japan earlier this year so I had to buy on online It was also greatly recommended to me by megu

the packaging is so cute! even without recommendations I still would have got it

Here it is on my hand from darkest to lightest
Very amazed how pigmented this blush is, so it'll be great for both a dolly and natural look

Pros:
- very pigmented vivid colour
- can be used for a variety of looks
- contains micro-shimmer, which isn't very noticeable
- you can see the blush cover through the clear cover

Cons:
- can be expensive
- packaging is a little cheap

My first Glossybox

Last week I receieved my Glossybox which is Australia's version of Birchbox, I'm pretty sure many of you have heard of these boxes which are filled with a few products/samples from a range of brands (including some premium ones). Here's a bit about the Glossybox's:

• These boxes made monthly
• $14.95 a box permonth
• Contain 5 samples/full-sized products (beauty, skincare or haircare)
• The items are mystery before receiving the box

I have heard about Glossybox's in Australia for a few months now, but that fact that they are $14.95 per box each month and the products inside are unknown made it a bit hard for me to decide whether I should get one or not. But after reading Jen's post on Glossybox, and a special $7 deal for their February (Valentine's day edition) box, I thought that I would be a great time to try it out for less than half price

Overall I quite like the concept of receiving unknown samples or full sized products in the mail, however it would be better if they lowered the price to under $10 a box/month.
I am very pleased with Palmer's 'skin therapy oil' because I can save myself some money from buying a bottle of bio-oil as my vitamin E oil was running out, as for the nail files, lipstick and lip balm I am quite pleased with and I will end up using, except for the sample of Proactiv which is a bit strong for my normal skin, but I can probably use it on days when I break out really badly.
