Japan: Day 3 - Osaka Castle

It's been ages since I made a post about my trip to Japan. So on our third day in Japan which was the 2nd of January, we visited the Osaka Castle which is literally the symbol of Osaka.
not to forget a map to get us around, and a train ticket:021:
.
.
.

Osaka Castle - 大阪城

with two warriors? haha

beautiful castle in a magnificent garden

We then caught the train back to Shinsaibashi station, which connected to Daimaru a department store
with two levels just for gyaru/gal brands

Since Daimaru is situated right on Shinsaibashi-suji, I just had to shop there lol

anyone spot Jun Komori? I think she's advertising for some dating or game site

Get's from that day:

That's all for now, I hope I can update posts more often

Review: Candy doll Blush in Strawberry Pink

Just a short review on Tsubasa Masuwaka's Candy doll blush in Strawberry Pink, forgot to buy this when I was in Japan earlier this year so I had to buy on online :030: It was also greatly recommended to me by megu

the packaging is so cute! even without recommendations I still would have got it:021:

Here it is on my hand from darkest to lightest
Very amazed how pigmented this blush is, so it'll be great for both a dolly and natural look

Pros:
- very pigmented vivid colour
- can be used for a variety of looks
- contains micro-shimmer, which isn't very noticeable
- you can see the blush cover through the clear cover

Cons:
- can be expensive
- packaging is a little cheap

Hope you enjoyed my short review~

My first Glossybox

Last week I receieved my Glossybox which is Australia's version of Birchbox, I'm pretty sure many of you have heard of these boxes which are filled with a few products/samples from a range of brands (including some premium ones). Here's a bit about the Glossybox's:
  • These boxes made monthly
  • $14.95 a box permonth
  • Contain 5 samples/full-sized products (beauty, skincare or haircare)
  • The items are mystery before receiving the box

I have heard about Glossybox's in Australia for a few months now, but that fact that they are $14.95 per box each month and the products inside are unknown made it a bit hard for me to decide whether I should get one or not. But after reading Jen's post on Glossybox, and a special $7 deal for their February (Valentine's day edition) box, I thought that I would be a great time to try it out for less than half price:016:

lovely outer design

and inside were the hidden goodies

along with a bit of information about some of the products inside

everything!
- 2 vouchers
- handy nail files
- Carmex moisture plus lip balm
- Palmer's skin therapy oil
- Face of Australia lipstick in starlight
- Proactiv deep cleasing wash sample
- love heart shapes candy (for valentines day haha)

Overall I quite like the concept of receiving unknown samples or full sized products in the mail, however it would be better if they lowered the price to under $10 a box/month.
I am very pleased with Palmer's 'skin therapy oil' because I can save myself some money from buying a bottle of bio-oil as my vitamin E oil was running out, as for the nail files, lipstick and lip balm I am quite pleased with and I will end up using, except for the sample of Proactiv which is a bit strong for my normal skin, but I can probably use it on days when I break out really badly.

pink and pink

Came home today to 2 parcels weee now I have 2 more to come :045: So these were the pink parcels

- Candy doll strawberry pink blush
- Parcel from Sami

Absolutely love the pink bag that Sami's parcel came in because I've only seen the boring black and grey ones in Australia:030: and inside the outer layer there was more pink:016: and yes pink is my favourite colour:008:
And what was inside- WC heart necklace (bought from her blog sale)
- free lenses!! (because I was one of the first 2 customers) so sweet

I've never worn contact lenses before, because the idea of shoving something in my eye kinda freaks me out, but now I shall try them out thanks to Sami, wish me luck:052: And again, thank you Sami~

Also purchased a blush brush from Priceline since they were having a 20%off sale on Ecotools and because I had an extra discount voucher for being their valuable customer lol :012:

So this brush ended up only costing me $10 instead of around $17 which was the normal price:051: Next time I will be reviewing the Candy doll blush in strawberry pink and the Ecotools blush brush, so stay tuned.

Also started my last high school year on Monday, but I still don't feel like I'm in year 12 haha, and thanks to our new school principle and school council, we now have to wear these beautiful ugly manly lace up school shoes. Ugh what could be worse than suffering your last year with ugly shoes? Makes me feel so jealous of other schools who still get to wear t-bars:023:
But is being pretty really everything? haha

I tend to use powder foundation more, but when I need more coverage I use BB cream.

Review: Dolly Wink eyeshadow #01 sweet dolly

Just a review on the Dolly Wink eyeshadow in #01 sweet dolly which I bought back from Japan, so this is not a sponsored review.

cute case cover design

Although the case of the eyeshadow is quite cheap, the eyeshadow itself is pretty good

I misplaced the packaging of the eyeshadow, but basically it was just a small tutorial on how to use the 4 eyeshadow colours, like below:

very light swatches:
with flash

in daylight

Even though I swiped the eyeshadow palettes very lightly, I still got this much colour (highly pigmented):051:The good thing about these eyeshadows, is that they contain glitter, instead they contain micro shimmer, which gives off a satiny finish.

Wearing the 4 eyeshadow colours along with dolly wink #02 lashes, bottom lashes, maybelline mascara, liquid eyeliner

Pros:
- highly pigmented
- micro shimmer instead of glitter
- long lasting
- small and lightweight palette
- goes on very smooth
- great for day and night looks

Cons:
- cheap case, plastic
- applicator is cheap and useless
- a little pricey

Overall: 8.5/10
hope you liked this review~
